public class DatabaseFinder
extends ProgressRunnable

Utility for a wizard or dialog to use to retrieve the Database for a connection. As the connection may not be instantaneous a progress bar is used.

Method Detail

findDatabase

public static Database findDatabase(java.lang.String connString)

Returns the Database class for the given connection name. Will provide a progress bar as the Database initialisation may take time, and reports any errors to the user.

Parameters:

connString - the connection string - either a connection name or an encoded store and connection name together.

findDatabaseEx

public static Database findDatabaseEx(java.lang.String connString)
                               throws DBException

Finds the Database for the given qualified connection String. Will provide a progress bar as the Database initialisation may take time. If a connection error occurs, the DBException is rethrown by this method.

Parameters:

connString - the qualified connection name

Throws:

DBException - if the connection fails
