XML Registry: Contents: Entity Spec Entries: Table

Related Tasks     Related Topics

You can specify how WebLogic Server resolves an external entity within an XML file by creating an Entity Spec entry. The entry lists the Public ID and System ID of a particular external entity and where the referenced entity file is stored locally, relative to the Administration Server, or the URI of the file out on the Web. This page lists the Entity Spec entries associated with the current XML registry. Click on the Public ID to see configuration information for a particular entry.

After you create the Entity Spec entry, you must then physically copy the entity file to a directory that the Administration Server can access and specify that the Administration Server should use the local copy whenever the external entity is referenced in an XML document. The Entity Spec entry also specifies when to cache the entity file locally (at server startup or when the entity is first referenced, for example) and how often the cached entity should be refreshed.
