Clients can provide references and declarations during indexing by
implementing a DependencyIndexer. The
references and declarations must extend
IndexReference or
IndexDeclaration. Both of these
interfaces have a getQueryCriteria() method. By default, the
declaration ID is returned as query criteria. Subclasses that cannot
quickly determine the ID during indexing can override this to provide
different criteria. In that case, a subclass of
IndexReferenceProvider should also be implemented and registered.
This subclass should return the criteria which should be used to look up
the references.
