4 Deploying Microsoft SQL Server Express on Microsoft Windows Devices
Starting with the Simphony 19.6 release, the default database is MySQL 8.0. Follow these steps only if you still want to deploy Microsoft SQL Server Express on new devices.
Go to My Oracle Support, logon and click the Patches & Updates tab, and then search for the CAL package for your version of Microsoft SQL Server Express: Download the CAL package (the patch ID is shown in parenthesis) for your version of Microsoft SQL Server Express:

For SQL Server Express 2016, search for and download patch number 35069532.

For SQL Server Express 2014, search for and download patch number 34362472.
Once the SQL Server Express CAL package file is downloaded, perform the following steps:

Using CAL, install the SQL Server Express Database package on the workstations.

Install the Service Host Download CAL Package.

Install the Service Host.
Deploy the CAL packages as described in CAL Package Deployment and CAL on Workstations.
