Activate Your Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse Subscription

You must activate the Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription to start using the service.

About Activating Your Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse Subscription

After your order for the Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription has been processed, you receive a Welcome email asking you to activate your Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription. If your sales representative also included a Universal Credits subscription as part of your order, you receive a separate Welcome email asking you to activate that as well.

As a prerequisite, activating an Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription requires an Oracle Cloud account with a Universal Credits subscription already activated into it. This is required because Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse has dependencies on Oracle Analytics Cloud and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse services and these services are only available with a Universal Credits subscription.

The sequential order in which you activate Universal Credits (UCC) and Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse along with the Oracle Cloud account you activate them into is very important. If you try to activate Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse into an Oracle Cloud account that doesn’t have UCC activated into it, then activation will fail. Activation will also fail if you aren’t a cloud administrator for the Oracle Cloud account that you’re trying to activate into. This applies to both UCC and Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscriptions. If you aren’t a cloud administrator, then ask the current cloud administrator of the account to add you as a cloud administrator before you try to activate. See Creating a Cloud Account Administrator in My Services. UCC PAYG subscriptions typically expire within 30 days of receiving your Welcome email unless activated. It’s important that you activate the UCC PAYG subscription before it expires; otherwise, the activation will fail.

If you were sold a new UCC subscription that you’ll be using for Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse, then:
  • The highly recommended best practice is to activate your new UCC subscription into your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications account followed by activating your Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription into the same Oracle Cloud account as your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. This enables you to easily synchronize your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications users, groups, and application roles required by Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse.
  • Alternatively, and while supported but not a best practice and not a recommended approach, is to instead activate your new UCC subscription into a new Oracle Cloud account that’s not the same Oracle Cloud account as your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. You would then activate your Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription into this new Oracle Cloud account. In this scenario, activities such as synchronizing your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications users, groups, and application roles required by Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse are much more difficult.
If your organization has an existing UCC subscription that you’ll be using for Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse, then activate your new Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription into the same Oracle Cloud account that has your UCC subscription in it. However, if this isn’t the same Oracle Cloud account that has Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, then prior to activating the Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription:
  • It’s highly recommended that instead of using your existing UCC subscription, you work with your sales representative to obtain a new UCC PAYG subscription. There’s no charge for this subscription if you only use it for Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse and you don’t bring more than 50GB of external (non-Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications) data into Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse.
  • Once you get this new UCC PAYG subscription, the highly recommended best practice is to activate your new UCC subscription into the Oracle Cloud account that has Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. Then activate your Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse subscription into the same Oracle Cloud account that has Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
