How to Access Information on Removable Media

1. Insert the media.

   The media is mounted after a few seconds.

2. List the contents of the media. For example:

   # ls /media/Oracle_Solaris-11_1-AI-SPARC
   auto_install      export            proc              solarismisc.zlib
   bin               home              reconfigure       system
   boot              jack              root              tmp
   dev               mnt               sbin
   devices           platform          solaris.zlib 

3. (Optional) Copy the file that you identified in the previous step.

This example shows how to access information on a USB memory stick.

$ ls /media/usb-name

This example shows how to access information on a DVD.

$ ls /media
Oracle_Solaris-11_1-AI-SPARC cdrom
