Installing the Actuate e.Reporting Server

Use the following instructions to install the Actuate e.Reporting Server.

To install the Actuate e.Reporting Server

Insert the UNIX_OS Server Ancillary Programs CD 1 of 2 into your CD-ROM drive.

Where:

UNIX_OS indicates the type of UNIX being installed

Navigate to the following directory:

Thirdpty/actuate/language/ereportserver

Where:

language = the Siebel code for the Language Pack you installed; for example, enu for U.S. English.

For the remaining installation steps, refer to Installing Actuate e.Reporting System manual on the Siebel eBusiness Third-Party Bookshelf under Actuate.

Steps during the installation process

Perform the following steps during the installation process:

Bypass all questions regarding database drivers / clients by entering n.
When prompted regarding the Java e.Report driver, enter y.
When prompted regarding X-Server, enter the number l for "Actuate supplied X-Frame Buffer."

NOTE:  Please note that Step 2 and Step 3 are required to correctly display charts in reports.

Actuate e.Reporting Server Postinstallation Task

After installing the Actuate e.Reporting Server, you must install TrueType fonts in order to view reports in PDF format. For instructions on installing TrueType fonts, please see the section "Using TrueType fonts" in e.Reporting for Multiple Locales guide. This guide is available in PDF format on the Siebel eBusiness Third-Party Bookshelf under Actuate.

Below are the TrueType fonts required by Siebel reports:

ARIAL.TTF
ARIALBD.TTF
ARIALBI.TTF
ARIALUNI.TTF

NOTE:  To view reports in PDF format in Actuate 6, please make sure that you are using the Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.

Upgrading from an Earlier Actuate e.Reporting Server Version

The Actuate utility acupgrade can be used for upgrading an e.Reporting Server Report Encyclopedia volume from an earlier Actuate version to the current version. For more information, see the "Working with e.Reporting Server utilities" chapter in the Administering Actuate e.Reporting System manual on the Siebel eBusiness Third-Party Bookshelf.
