MaxTasks
MaxTasks is the maximum number of concurrent user sessions that can run on a server at one time. An MTServer is equivalent to a single process of the Object Manager.
MaxTasks/Max Server is the maximum number of tasks running in one instance of MT Server, as in the following example:
Min MT Server = Max MT Server = 5
Max Tasks = 20
Max Task per MT server = 20 / 5 = 4 tasks on each MT Server
SIEBEL_OSD_LATCH and SIEBEL_OSD_NLATCH
It is very important that you make sure to keep the server running under 80% CPU utilization. If there are any changes on MaxTasks, change SIEBEL_OSD_LATCH and SIEBEL_OSD_NLATCH based on the following operations:
- SIEBEL_OSD_LATCH = 2 * (Accumulated MaxTasks of all components)
- SIEBEL_OSD_NLATCH= 10 * (Accumulated MaxTasks of all components)
For example, on an application server box, you have enabled two multithreaded server components: CallCenter_enu, and WFProcMgr. MaxTasks=500 for the component CallCenter_enu and MaxTasks=100 for the WFProcMgr component. So SIEBEL_OSD_LATCH should be set accordingly to 1200 (as a result of 2*[500+100]) and SIEBEL_OSD_NLATCH should be set accordingly to 6000.
