MaxMTServers and MinMTServers
Maximum MT Servers (MaxMTS) is the maximum number of Instances of Component (processes) that can be run for a particular component on a particular server. MaxMTS is also used to calculate how many tasks can be run on each Instance of Component.
Minimum MT Servers (MinMTS) is only used when the Siebel Server or a particular component is started. MinMTS determines how many processes to start up for this component.
NOTE: You should set MinMTServers = MaxMTServers. Setting MinMTServers less than MaxMTServers can cause a delay of service for new users as additional MTServers get initialized.
Suggested settings are as follows:
- MaxMTServers = <target #users> / <users/OM>
- MaxTasks = 20% target #users
For example, for 500 users, set MaxMTServers=5 and MaxTasks=100.
- MinSharedDbConns= 10% target #users
- MaxSharedDbConns= 10% target #users
- MinTrxDbConns = 10% target #users
- If applicable, you can set Bypasshandler=TRUE for any single component to attain approximately 8% throughput gain.
NOTE: With the setting Bypasshandler=TRUE, there will be no regular component logging unless the component experiences difficulties and generates an error message.
NOTE: You should closely monitor the WFProcMgr process usage during a steady state run, and then adjust the parameters according to your observations.
