label

language code

The code that specifies which human language is used for a display value. Each language has its own code identifier—for example, ENU identifies U.S. English. For a list of language codes, see the server installation guide for the operating system you are using.

level

A component of a dimensional hierarchy that rolls up or is rolled up from other levels. See also dimensional hierarchy.

license file

The file that specifies how many catalogs, categories, and items can be supported in an auction.

license key

Siebel eBusiness Applications use license key numbers to allow your organization to access the products you have licensed.

list format

Sequences the fields of information that appear in the Siebel Marketing distribution list. When partnering with external vendors or fulfillment houses for execution of a campaign, marketers must pass data according to a predefined fixed file structure. Users can define list formats according to these requirements to pass the data in the appropriate format.

list management

The process of importing and managing lists of contacts and prospects for use in marketing and sales campaigns.

list measure

An alphanumeric database field that is used during list generation for vendors.

list of values (LOV)

local lock

In Siebel Tools, the lock placed on a project in the local repository instead of on the server. Using a local lock allows developers to modify object definitions in a project on the local database. It is advantageous for testing, but it does not allow the developer to check in the modified object definitions to the server. See also check in.

locale

A set of user preference information related to the user's language and cultural conventions. See also global deployment and internationalization.

localization

Localization is the process of adapting a program for a specific locale. It is often abbreviated L10N because there are 10 characters between the initial L and the terminal N.

locking

In Siebel Tools, when a project is locked, one developer can modify its object definitions, but others cannot. However, unlike check out, locking a project does not copy its object definitions from the server to the local database. See also check in and check out.

Login form

The user interface form through which the user presents his or her user credentials.
