Bookshelf v7.5: Process for Personalizing a Plan and Plan Rule Elements

The following section describes the process of personalizing a compensation plan, and details the steps an administrator might follow. Your company may follow a different process according to its business requirements.

Administrator Process

You can perform a number of procedures to personalize a compensation plan and plan rule elements. Table 24 describes which elements can be personalized, and which cannot. Before beginning personalization, see About Compensation Plan Personalization.

Personal Plan	Effective dates are specific for each participant. You can change the default draws, caps, and rules. Personalizing a Compensation Plan Cap.
Personal Plan Rule	You can add or remove a personal plan rule by changing the Default check box value. The payout factor, sales territories, target incentives, and target incentive scripts can be changed. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Rule.
Personal Plan Rule Filters	You can add or remove personal plan rule filters. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Rule Filter.
Personal Plan Rule Filter Definitions	You cannot change personal plan rule filter definitions.
Personal Plan Rule Rate Table	You cannot add or remove personal plan rule rate table records. You cannot change attributes.
Personal Plan Caps	You can add, remove, and modify effective date, amount-quantity, and amount-percentage in personal plan caps. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Cap.
Personal Plan Rule Caps	You can add, remove, and modify effective date, amount-quantity, and amount-percentage in personal plan rule caps. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Rule Cap.
Personal Plan Draws	You can add, remove, and modify effective dates and the amount in personal plan draws. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Draw.
Personal Plan Hurdles	You cannot directly add or remove personal plan hurdles. However, you can nullify a hurdle definition.
Personal Plan Hurdle Definitions	You can add, remove, and change personal plan hurdle definitions. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Hurdle Definition.
Personal Plan Rule Hurdles	You cannot add or remove personal plan rule hurdles. However, you can nullify the definition.
Personal Plan Quota	You can add, remove, modify, and replace a personal plan quota if no plan quota uses it. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Quota.
Personal Plan Quota Skew	You cannot personalize this skew or any other skew.
Personal Plan Rule Quota	You cannot personalize a personal plan rule quota. It exists just as field in the plan rule.
Personal Plan Rule Quota Skew	You cannot personalize this skew or any other skew.
Personal Plan Rule Territory.	You can personalize the territory associated with the plan rule. For more information, see Personalizing a Compensation Plan Rule Territory.
