Installing STEP on Windows

The instructions given here assume that the drive with the Taxware installation
CD-ROM is E: and the drive on which Taxware is installed is C:.

To install STEP

  1. Run E:\32bitsys\Stepfe32\install.exe.

    2. The Welcome screen appears.

  2. Click OK.

    3. The Select Destination Directory screen appears.

  3. Choose C:\Taxware\STEP as the installation directory, and then click OK.

    4. The Select Group or Folder dialog box appears.

  4. Type TAXWARE Applications STEP, and then click OK.

    5. STEP is installed, and the STEP System Installation screen appears.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Copy all the files from E:\32bitsys\step\data to C:\Taxware\STEP\indata.
  7. Change the permissions of all parameter files (Param*) in C:\Taxware\STEP\indata to allow read and write access.
