Novell SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 8 on x86 with 8.1 SP2

Provides full support for WebLogic Server and run-time only support for WebLogic Workshop and WebLogic Integration. WebLogic Portal is not supported. See below for Design and Development Tools support.

SDK

WebLogic JRockit 1.4.2_04 SDK

  • WebLogic Platform 8.1 SP2 supports the WebLogic JRockit 1.4.2_04 SDK and all later releases of JRockit 1.4.2.

  • The WebLogic JRockit 1.4.2_04 SDK is not provided with the WebLogic Platform installer; you must download and install it separately on your system. To download the WebLogic JRockit 1.4.2_04 SDK, go to:

WebLogic JRockit 8.1 SP2 (J2SE 1.4.1)

WebLogic Platform 8.1 SP2 supports WebLogic JRockit 8.1 SP2 (J2SE 1.4.1) and all later releases of 1.4.1.

Design and Development Tools

The WebLogic Workshop IDE and WebLogic Integration Format Builder are not supported on this system. This system is supported for the production deployment of applications developed in the WebLogic Workshop IDE, and for remote debugging of applications developed in the WebLogic Workshop IDE. This system is also supported for the development and production deployment of WebLogic Server applications developed with other tools.

Known Issues

The setuid function does not work with this JDK due to the way the current Linux thread model works. When you use ports lower than 1024, you cannot switch from root to a non-privileged user ID by using the setuid function.
