Support for Complex Account Structures


The communications, media, and energy industries often use complex account structures. For example, a single business customer might have many accounts with a utility for gas service and electrical service at multiple sites.

For communications, media, and energy, Siebel Partner Manager and Partner Portal have special features to support the complex account structures that are common in these industries, including:

  • Account Hierarchies. Account hierarchies allow you to create multiple billing accounts and service accounts for a single customer. This feature gives you flexibility in selling and in providing service and sending invoices and statements to a customer's different sites.
  • Account Contacts. Account contacts allow you to select the account for a contact. This feature is needed because contacts can have multiple accounts in communications, media, and energy.

The screens and views of the Partner Manager used for these features are identical to those used for the same purposes in Siebel Communications, Siebel Media, and Siebel Energy.
