About ActiveX Controls for High Interactivity

After the Siebel Web Client installation completes, the file predeploy.htm is loaded in a browser window. This file downloads the ActiveX controls that are used by the Siebel Mobile Web Client when it is deployed using high interactivity. Downloading the ActiveX controls to the client computer so that they can be used by the Siebel Web Client is referred to as predeploying these controls. The predeploy.htm file is located in the directory SIEBEL_CLIENT_ROOT\bin. In this path, SIEBEL_CLIENT_ROOT is the directory where the Siebel Web Client is installed.

For more information about the ActiveX controls that are used by Siebel Web Clients that are deployed using high interactivity, about related browser settings, and about the predeploy.htm file, see the browser configuration chapter in Siebel System Administration Guide. Updated Activex controls are also predeployed when you install a Siebel CRM release, including the current release, Siebel Innovation Pack 2013. For more information, see Postinstallation Tasks for High Interactivity Clients.

NOTE:  You can deploy Siebel Business Applications using Siebel Open UI, which is an alternative to the high-interactivity client for employee applications, such as Siebel Call Center. For more information, see Enabling Siebel Open UI.
