Before You Begin
Perform the hardware setup as described in the hardware setup documentation.
Apply standby power to the server by connecting AC power. See How to Apply Standby Power for Initial Service Processor Configuration.
Verify that your terminal, laptop, or terminal server is operational.
8N1: eight data bits, no parity, one stop bit
9600 baud
Disable hardware flow control (CTS/RTS)
Disable software flow control (XON/XOFF)
See Attaching Administration (SP) Cables for the location of the SERIAL MGT port.
