This appendix describes the SCSI targeting for the two internal disk drives and the SCSI targeting conventions for SCSI peripherals you can add to the system. For complete SCSI target information about SCSI peripherals, see the installation manual that came with the SCSI peripheral.
Note - Assign each SCSI device on the SCSI chain a different SCSI target.

The internal disk drives are pre-set to SCSI target 3 (disk position 0) and SCSI target 1 (disk position 1). With the Solaris 2.1 operating system and later operating system releases), you can assign any SCSI device (disk, tape, CD- ROM, and so on) any SCSI target from 0 to 6. For consistency, you might keep the same SCSI targeting scheme as the SunOS 4.1.3 operating system.
Note - SCSI target 7 is reserved for the SCSI processor of the computer system or the SCSI host adapter card.
