Each NEM provides 10 x2 LSI-SAS2 connections for server and storage blades. All NEM SAS interfaces support SAS (3 Gbps) and SAS2 (6 Gbps) data rates.
The Sun Blade Zone Manager running on the CMM provides a way to create and manage assignments. The zoning is programmed on the chassis CMM using the ILOM software.
Sun Blade Zone Manager only works with server and storage blades that are SAS2 enabled.
See the following documentation for more information on zoning SAS2 modules in the Sun Blade 6000 modular system:
Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) CMM Administration Guide for information on using Sun Blade Zone Manager.
Sun Blade Storage Module M2 Administration Guide for information on zoning SAS2 disks in the chassis.
Sun Blade 6000 Network Express Module Product Notes for information on supported server and storage modules.
Server blade documentation for information on availability of SAS2 HBAs.
There are no external SAS connections on the NEM.
For the latest information about SAS1 and SAS2 compatibility, refer to the SAS-1/SAS-2 Compatibility Upgrade Guide, located at:
