To add comments to a properties file that you’ve edited manually, you must add the comment in the $description field. If you preface the comment with a pound sign (#), the comment will be deleted if you subsequently modify the properties file using the ATG Control Center.
Note: When you add comments in the $description field, you can add a manual line break using the backslash (\) line continuation character.
