The workbench pane that appears at the top of the Merchandising window bookmarks assets that merchandisers can organize and edit, for example, with Multi Edit operations. For more information, see Using the Workbench in the ATG Merchandising Guide for Business Users.

The /atg/remote/assetmanager/workbench/service/WorkbenchService component defines configuration settings that customize the behavior of the workbench:

Property

Description

addNewTilesToEnd

Specifies whether new tiles or stacks are added to the beginning (left-hand side) or end (right-hand side) of the workbench.

This property controls cases where tiles added to the workbench by any means other than drag and drop, for example, with the Add to workbench command. When merchandisers drag assets to the workbench, tiles are created at the spot where they are dropped.

If you set this property to true, new tiles are added to the right-hand side of the workbench.

If you set this property to false (default), new tiles are added to the left-hand side of the workbench.

allowLinkOperations

Specifies whether merchandisers can perform link operations in the workbench. For more information, see Linking Assets in the Workbench in the ATG Merchandising Guide for Business Users.

By default, this property is set to true.

autoAddNewAssets

Specifies whether Merchandising automatically adds a tile to the workbench any time a merchandiser creates a new asset. Tiles are added only for assets created in Merchandising, not for imported assets.

By default, this property is set to true.

confirmBeforeRemovingReport

Specifies whether Merchandising displays a confirmation dialog when merchandisers add assets to the stack after a Multi Edit operation has completed. Adding assets to the stack automatically removes the report for that Multi Edit operation.

By default, this property is set to true.

groupByDefault

Specifies how tiles are grouped when merchandisers add assets to the workbench.

If you set this this property to true (default), Merchandising automatically groups assets added to the workbench based on asset type. For example, products are added to one stack while SKUs are added to another.

If you set this property to false, Merchandising creates a separate tile for each asset added to the workbench.
