Upgrading the RDC Order Device

You might need to upgrade the Restaurant Display Controller (RDC) in order to run Kitchen Display System (KDS) version 2.1. This is available with Simphony version 2.3 and later.

There are two RDC models (GX and LX) and each model has a different platform. The part number on the RDC indicates the model. The RDC Platform Update is version 4.2.2.0 and it can automatically identify which model of RDC is being used and install the correct files.

Upgrading an order device consists of completing the following tasks:

• Upgrading the operating system to the required platform

• Resetting factory settings

• Installing the KDS Client
