Launching implementation processes
The first step for any implementation process is to launch that process with the Application Implementation Wizard Startup Window. This window shows you the set of required implementation processes and serves as the jumping-off point for launching them.
As you submit each process, you can begin to delegate setup responsibilities by specifying the Role who will receive notifications related to that process.
Although the initial implementation processes need to be completed just once for an entire enterprise, later processes need to be completed once per set of books, inventory organization, or other "context." See: Completing Context-Dependent Process Steps
To begin an implementation project using the Implementation Wizard:
1. Sign onto Oracle Applications using a user ID that has access to Implementation Wizard responsibilities. (You can use the predefine user Wizard, with password "Wizard.")
2. Choose any of the "Implementation" responsibilities.
3. Open the Application Implementation Wizard Startup window.
4. Using the Process list of values, choose the Wizard Implementation Process.
5. Leave the Context field blank.
7. Choose Submit. The system will confirm that an implementation process has started.
8. If you decided to send the notifications to the Wizard role rather than to a different role, open the Notifications Summary window to read the first notification. Otherwise, change to a different user. (If you haven't configured the Notifications window to automatically query, you need to query the window to see your notifications.)
9. Respond to notifications as you complete setup steps. However, note that you can begin other Common Applications processes without responding to these notifications.
10. Continue submitting and completing other "Common Applications" processes until you have completed all the "Common Applications" steps.
11. Proceed to the common "family" processes.
12. Proceed to the product-specific processes.
