Utilizing Multiple Currencies

Oracle Sales Compensation gives you the flexibility to pay salespeople in a currency of their choice, while it makes all calculations in a different currency. The currency in which a salesperson gets paid is the salesrep currency, while the currency in which Oracle Sales Compensation performs all its calculations is known as the functional currency.

You can define the salesrep currency by assigning the salesperson a currency code. See Entering Salespeople.

The functional currency may or may not be the same as the source currency, which is the currency in which Oracle Sales Compensation receives a transaction from another application, such as Oracle Receivables. If the source currency is different from the functional currency, then Oracle Sales Compensation converts it to the functional currency. By default, the functional currency is set to the US dollar.

You can see the source currency as well as the functional currency for a transaction on the Transactions window.

For information on defining currencies, see Selecting the Set of Books.
