Adding Fields to the Transactions Form to Apply Classification Rules
Because manual adjustment transactions go through the classification process, you need to customize the Transactions form, adding entry fields for classification data. The process you follow to customize the Transactions form for your use is listed here:
1. Identify your transaction attributes.
You need to define the additional attributes needed to classify your compensation transactions.
2. Identify which additional attributes you need for manual transactions. Typically, these include the order number, order date, invoice number, invoice date, customer name, and address--information you may need for reporting.
4. Create a descriptive flexfield for entering manual transactions. Descriptive flexfields give you many advantages:
- You can validate values when the fields are entered.
- You can specify default values for the fields.
- You can define a field as optional or required.
Note: If you have classification rules, you must define attributes to apply these rules. Calculation fails unless you provide information in these columns.
