Defining Period Targets for Each Salesperson
To define the period targets for a salesperson:
1. Open the Salespeople window, select the salesperson you want to define; then choose Plan Assignments.
The Plan Assignments window opens.
2. Check the Custom check box next to the name of the plan element for which you want to customize the period targets.
3. Choose Period Targets to define period targets for each period in the plan assignment period.
The Period Targets window for this plan element for this salesperson opens.
4. Specify the target/quota for each period.
This lets you weigh the targets for periods when you expect higher or lower sales.
Note: The period targets affect compensation calculation only when a plan element has the ITD check box checked.
5. Choose Distribute Target to distribute your targets for the pay period. For example, if a quarterly plan assignment is $9,000.00, then selecting this button causes an even distribution of $3,000.00 for each month in the quarter.
Oracle Sales Compensation lets you change plan assignments at any time as your sales force grows and changes. If you need to recalculate past compensation payments based on the new plan, you can choose to make the plan changes retroactive.
Note: In the case of plan elements with the ITD check box checked, the period quota is used to calculate the commission. However, in plan elements with the ITD check box unchecked, the quota in the Plan Assignment window is used to calculate the commission.
