Customizing the Target Quota or Payment Amounts
To customize the target quota and payment rates for a salesperson:
1. Open the Salespeople window, select the salesperson you want to customize, then choose Plan Assignments.
The Plan Assignments window opens.
In the Compensation Plan region, the Name field displays the compensation plan assigned to the salesperson. The Plan Elements region displays the plan elements assigned to the compensation plan you select, along with the target quota and payment amounts for each plan element.
2. Check the Custom check box next to the name of the plan element for which you want to customize the quota or compensation rates.
If you leave the Custom check box unchecked for a plan element, any changes you make to the quota or rates for that plan element are inherited by the salesperson.
3. In the Target field under the Plan Element region, type over the amount to specify the new target quota for this salesperson.
4. Choose the Rate Table button to view and modify the individual compensation rates associated with the brackets in the rate table for the selected plan element.
The Rate Table window for this plan element for this salesperson opens.
You cannot change the brackets--the ranges of quota or revenue achievement--associated with the compensation rates on the Rate Table window. Changing a Compensation Plan explains how to change the brackets in a rate table.
Attention: Although you can customize the rates for individual salespeople, those representatives automatically inherit all changes made to other aspects of the compensation plan itself. For example, if you customize compensation rates for a salesperson and then delete a bracket in the rate table assigned to that compensation plan, Oracle Sales Compensation defaults the rates to those in the new rate table.
Oracle Sales Compensation lets you change plan assignments at any time as your sales force grows and changes. If you need to recalculate past compensation payments based on the new plan, you can choose to make the plan changes retroactive.
