What is Pro*C/C++?

Pro*C/C++ is a programming tool that enables you to embed SQL statements in a C/C++ program. Pro*C/C++ accepts the source program as input, translates the embedded SQL statements into standard Oracle runtime library calls, and generates a modified source program that you can compile, link, and run in the usual way.

What Compilers are Supported?

Pro*C/C++ release 8.1.5 supports the following compiler:

• Microsoft Visual C++ version 6.0

 

 

Note: Borland C++ is no longer supported.

Restrictions

Pro*C/C++ release 8.1.5 does not support the following:

• 16-bit code generation
