Access to the right information at the right time gives you the ability to make faster, more informed decisions. By providing fast, flexible, streamlined reporting and querying capabilities, you empower end user reporting without over dependency on IT resources.

Oracle9i Reports Developer is a powerful enterprise-reporting tool that you use to build high-quality Web and paper reports based on dynamic data. All reports developed using Reports Developer can be deployed seamlessly on Oracle9iAS. Using Reports Developer makes publishing information easy because it allows you to access any data, and publish it in any format, and send it anywhere.

Reports Developer provides complete flexibility in formatting data—recognising and embracing the differences between paper and the Web. Reports Developer allows you to extend your HTML Reports pages by embedding your own data-driven Java components or Oracle9i Reports custom JSP tags into the HTML document via a wizard interface. You can integrate Reports custom JSP tags with Reports data model objects and other Reports tags to add dynamic report output to the HTML page. These tags use the data model, stored in XML, to produce dynamic data-driven output, or to invoke JavaBeans that use the data model to create their results.

For paper, you can use the same wizards and WYSIWYG editor to create multiple reports such as tables, matrices, group reports, and graphs, as well as limitless combinations of these formats.

You can declaratively create and combine multiple queries into a single report, and thus access information simultaneously from multiple data sources, including Oracle databases, XML feeds, Oracle Express, and JDBC-enabled data sources. You can even add custom data sources using the open API for Pluggable Data Sources. Naturally, this is all tied into the Oracle9iAS Single-Signon for LDAP authentication.

Through Oracle9iAS you can publish your reports in a variety of widely used formats, including HTML with CSS, PDF, RTF, and XML. Tight integration with Oracle9iAS Portal makes it easy to deploy reports as portlets and control access to the reports by defining who can access what reports, and when.
