For example, it might cache the top news stories, sports scores, and stock quotes. Because each type of information needs to be updated at different intervals, Oracle8i Cache lets you specify different refresh policies for each table. For example, the online news service can specify that sports scores are refreshed every 30 minutes and stock quotes every 3 minutes. Because the news service wants to be sure to publish any news as it happens, it refreshes the data when an important event occurs, as well as at regular intervals, such as every 15 minutes.
