The interface for adding new items (such as files, text, and URLs) to a WebDB site, and editing or deleting existing items is provided within the site itself. When contributors log on to the site and navigate to a folder where they have the appropriate privileges, they can simply click the Edit button and start adding and editing content.

When contributors add an item to the site, WebDB uploads the item if necessary, and creates a link to the item on the appropriate folder page. The folder page is automatically generated; the contributor does not need any knowledge of HTML.

If the item is an HTML file, WebDB lists which supporting files (e.g. images) are already available and which still need to be uploaded.
