Adding Property Floor Plans


The administrator can attach floor plans for each property or part of the property to the property record. This access to floor plans allows sales representatives to make informed decisions about the suitability of a function space for a particular function simply by looking at the floor plan.

This task is a step in Process of Setting Up Properties.

To attach a floor plan to a property

  1. Navigate to the Property Administration screen > Properties list view.
  2. In the Properties list, query for the required property record.
  3. Drill down on the Property Name hyperlink.
  4. Click the Floor Plan view tab.
  5. In the Floor Plan list, create a new record, and complete the fields.

    The table that follows describes some of the fields.

    Name

    Name of the floor plan for the function space.

    Description

    Description of the floor plan.

    Image File Name

    Actual floor plan image. Click the Select button to attach an image from the picklist. If you have a new floor plan that has not yet been made available in this list, you may do so by adding a New Literature item of type Bitmap or Thumbnail Image. For more information on adding literature records, see Applications Administration Guide.

    Image File Type

    Type of the floor plan image, that is, Bitmap or Thumbnail Image.

    Thumbnail Image File Name

    Thumbnail image of the floor plan.

    Thumbnail Image File Type

    Type of the floor plan thumbnail image, that is, Bitmap or Thumbnail Image.

After you create the Floor Plan list, sales representatives can view the floor plan using the Floor Plan view tab for the property.

To allow floor plan viewing for the Function Space Diary

  1. Navigate to the Property Administration screen > Properties list view.
  2. In the Properties list, query for and select the required property record.
  3. Drill down on the Property Name hyperlink.
  4. Click the Floor Plan view tab.
  5. Click the Show more button on the Property form, and locate the Image Information section.
  6. In the Thumbnail Image File Name field, click the Select button, and choose the thumbnail graphic file.

    After you select a graphic file in this field, the Thumbnail Floor Plan option (available from the Function Space Diary view menu button) is made available for use.

  7. In the Image File Name field, click the Select button, and choose the appropriate floor plan graphic file.

    After you select a graphic file in this field, the Floor Plan button (on the Function Space Diary Property form) is made available for use.

Configuring the Floor Plan Website Option

The Function Space Diary also has a Floor Plan Website option. This must be configured by the administrator in Siebel Tools before it is available to the users.

To configure the Floor Plan Website option

  1. Log in to Siebel Tools as an administrator.
  2. In the Object Explorer, navigate to Applet.
  3. Query for TNT SHM Site Entry Applet 1 Row.
  4. Navigate to Applet > User Prop.
  5. Query for the Main Url Field Applet User Prop.
  6. Clear the Inactive check box to activate the applet user property.
  7. Under Value, define the Web site that you want to appear when the users choose the Floor Plan Website option.
  8. Recompile and replace the Siebel Repository File (SRF).
  9. Restart the client and check that the option is now available from the Function Space Diary.
