Introduction

OracleAS Portal is not installed with Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.2.0). However, you can build and deploy portlets to Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.2.0), and run them remotely from OracleAS Portal 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) or OracleAS Portal 10g Release 2 (10.1.4).

OracleAS Portal Developer's Guide describes building portlets and deploying them to Oracle Application Server. If you plan to render the portlets on a Web page or to use the CMAP APIs, then you will need to have OracleAS Portal 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) or OracleAS Portal 10g Release 2 (10.1.4) installed separately.

For detailed, up-to-the-minute white papers, documentation, support information, and more, visit the Portal Center at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/index.html.

Oracle Portal Developer Kit

To build portlets, you must download and install Oracle Portal Developer Kit (PDK) from the Oracle Technology Network. The PDK is the framework for seamless integration into OracleAS Portal.

To download the latest version of the PDK and to learn more about it, visit http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/pdk.html
