Activating the Workflow Processes and Claims Workflows

Many workflow processes are provided for Siebel Claims.

Administering Reserve Codes

In the new Administration - Insurance > Reserve Codes view, administrators can now define a reserve code for a particular reserve to determine how the reserve value is calculated.

Administering Loss Codes

In the new Administration - Insurance > Loss Codes view, administrators can now define a loss code for a particular type of loss and associate a default activity plan template and default coverages with that loss code.

Administering Adjusters' Financial Limits

In the new Administration - User > Employees > Claims Reserve Limits view, administrators can now set reserve and payment limits for each reserve code, and also set total reserve and total payment limits for a claim for an employee.

Integrating with the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Siebel Insurance now allows you to check claims payees against a blacklist of individuals and organizations provided by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Recording Details of Involved Parties (End User)

In the new Claims > Loss Details > Involved Parties view, end users can now associate claims with accounts as well as with contacts. Previously, you associated claims with contacts. Also in this release, accounts and contacts can have a multiple role, for example, a Service Provider can be the insured, claimant, or a witness.

Managing Claims Events (End User)

In the new Claims Events screen, end users can now associate multiple claims with a single event. Previously, users had to enter the loss details for a single event multiple times, resulting in data duplication.

Creating an Activity Plan (End User)

In the enhanced Claims > Diary Management > Activity Plans view, there is now a Default Plans button that automatically creates an activity plan based on the loss code for a claim.

Integrating with the Insurance Services Office (ISO) and Checking a Claim Against the ISO Database (End User)

In the new Claims > Reports / Documents > ISO Database Search view, end users can check claims against the Insurance Services Office (ISO) ClaimSearch database and receive a response within a few minutes.

Previously, claims adjusters had to enter claims information in the ISO Web site, which took much longer.

Assigning Claims to a Specialist Unit (End User)

The following buttons are now available in the Claims List screen for evaluating the fraud and subrogation (that is, recovery) potential of a claim:

  • Evaluate Subrogation Potential. Evaluates the subrogation potential of the claim.
  • Evaluate SIU Potential. Evaluates the fraud potential of the claim.

Creating a Reserve (End User)

In the news Claims > Loss Details - Auto and Claims > Loss Details - Property views, end users can make sure that the customer has the right policy and coverage for a claim and create a reserve for each coverage. End users can now create reserve based on reserve codes created by the administrator.

About Managing Reserves and Managing Reserves (End User)

In the enhanced Claims > Reserves view, end users can open and adjust reserve, create new reserves, and delete existing reserves.

Creating an Invoice Record (End User), Generating a Payment Record (End User) and Tracking Payments Related to Invoices (End User)

The Invoices screen and Claims > Invoices view are now used instead of the Bills view to capture details of invoices for claims. End users can use the Invoices > Claim Payments view to track all of the payments for invoices.

In the new Claims > Financials > Invoices view, end users can capture invoices received from claimants and third parties. When an adjuster clicks the Generate Payment button, Siebel Insurance creates a payment record for that invoice.

About Issuing a Settlement Payment (End User)

In the enhanced Claims > Financials > Payments view:

  • Payments can be associated with multiple reserves
  • The processing for the Submit Payment button includes checks for adjuster's payment limits, checks against the OFAC blacklist, and so on.
  • The Void payment button is available to cancel the transaction.

Making a Bulk Payment (End User) and Viewing the Invoices and Claims for a Payment (End User)

In the new Payments > Insurance Payments view, end users can query the payments for a particular vendor in a particular period and generate a single bulk payment record for that vendor.

The Payments > Insurance Payments view also allows end users to display all of the invoices and claims associated with a particular payment.

Managing Recovery Information (End User)

In the news Claims > Recoveries view, end users can now manage the claims recovery process using a dashboard view.

Creating a Recovery Payment Record (End User)

In the new Claims > Financials > Recoveries view, end users can create a record of invoices related to recoveries from third parties. This view is used to capture recoveries payments as well as to keep track of invoices sent to third parties to collect the money.

Managing Fraud Information (End User)

In the new Claims > SIU Dashboard view, end users can now manage fraudulent claims processing in one place and there is no need to reenter information.
