Configuring the Analytics Web Server and HTTP Server (Windows)

Siebel Analytics Web Server and the Web (or HTTP) server run as separate processes.

• Siebel Analytics Web server executable performs the functions.

  The Analytics Web Server process hosts most of the business logic of Siebel Analytics Web.

• The Web server process is a third-party application, such as Apache Tomcat or other application.

  The Web (HTTP) server hosts a lightweight plug-in that acts as a proxy for requests to Siebel Analytics Web. A Java servlet creates socket connections to Siebel Analytics Web server and uses TCP/IP to redirect HTTP requests to Siebel Analytics Web server. The servlet adheres to the Java Servlet 2.2 specification, and therefore part of the installation process involves deployment of this servlet.
