Upgrading the Siebel Data Warehouse from Version 7.0.4 to 7.7.1

This section provides instructions for upgrading the Siebel Data Warehouse from version 7.0.4 to 7.7.1. In this procedure you will move your repository customizations to the 7.7.1 repository. Preserving the repository data is not required, because you will perform a full load of data by running the Complete ETL execution plan.

NOTE:  Before you do this procedure, you must upgrade the Siebel transactional database from version 7.0.4 to version 7.7. For instructions, see Upgrade Guide.

Figure 12 shows the upgrade path to upgrade from an Analytics 7.0.x environment to Analytics 7.7.1.

To upgrade the Siebel Data Warehouse from version 7.0.4 to 7.7.1

1. Apply the SRW_77.sif file using Siebel Tools version 7.7.1.
2. Apply the SRW_771.sif file using Siebel Tools version 7.7.1.
3. Back up the Informatica Repository and Analytics RPD file.

   This step is needed to restore any customizations that have been done.

4. Install Siebel Analytics version 7.7.1, including the Siebel Analytics Server, Siebel Analytics Web Server, and the DAC.
5. Install Informatica software version 6.2.1.
6. Configure the Informatica Repository.
7. Upgrade the previous Informatica Repository to the Informatica Repository version 6.2.1.

   This step is needed to move any customizations from the 7.0.4 repository.

8. Move the customizations from the 7.0.4 repository to the 7.7.1 repository.
9. Merge the Analytics metadata from version 7.0.4 to 7.7.1.

   You can also move the customizations.

10. In the DAC, run the Complete ETL execution plan.

NOTE:  Siebel supports running the Complete ETL execution plan only.
