Activating Workflows


In order to use Siebel PRM, you must activate the Registration and eCommerce workflows. Siebel PRM also includes other workflows that you may want to activate.

Activating the Registration Workflows

You must activate the registration workflows to let new partners register through the Siebel Partner Portal.

For more information about partner registration, see Working With New Partners.

To activate the registration workflow

  1. Log in to the Siebel Partner Manager.
  2. Navigate to the Business Process Administration screen.

    Workflow Processes should be selected by default in the Show drop-down list.

  3. Use a query to find the User Registration workflows:
    • User Registration Process
    • User Registration SubProcess
    • User Registration Initial Process
    • User Registration Forgot Password Process
    • User Registration Company Information (SCW)
    • User Registration Individual Information (SCW)
  4. Make sure that the version number for each workflow process is 0, and that the status for each workflow process is Inactive.
  5. Select the record for one workflow process and do the following:
    1. Click Revise.
    2. When the revise operation is done, click Save.
    3. In the Workflows list, make sure that a new copy of the process exists with a version number greater than 0, and the status In Progress.
    4. Select this new copy of the process, and click Activate to activate the workflow.
  6. Repeat Step 5 for each process.
  7. Restart the server if you already have it up.

Activating the eCommerce Workflows

Activate the eCommerce workflows allows partner commerce. For more information about partner commerce, see Managing Sales.

To activate the eCommerce workflows

  1. Log in to the Siebel Partner Manager.
  2. Navigate to the Business Process Administration screen.

    Workflow Processes should be selected by default in the Show drop-down list.

  3. Find the following workflows, and perform the remaining steps on each of them:
    1. All workflows in which the Group field has the value eSales.
    2. The workflow named "eChannel - Cancel Order Process"
    3. The workflow named "eChannel Go to Current Quote View (eSales)"
    4. The workflow named "eChannel Shopping Cart Scenarios Workflow"
  4. Make sure that the version number for each workflow process is 0, and that the status for each workflow process is Inactive.
  5. Select the record for one workflow process and do the following:
    1. Click Revise.
    2. When the revise operation is done, click Save.
    3. In the Workflows list, make sure that a new copy of the process exists with a version number greater than 0, and the status In Progress.
    4. Select this new copy of the process, and click Activate to activate the workflow.
  6. Repeat Step 5 for each process.
  7. Restart the server if you already have it up.

Activating the Opportunity Management Workflows

Siebel PRM includes the following workflows that provide email notification about the status of opportunities in order to facilitate the sales process. You may choose to activate these, depending on your business model.

These workflows are activated in the same way as the registration and eCommerce workflows described previously. Search for the following workflow names:

  • Email Notification of Assigned Opportunity
  • Email Notification of Pending Opportunity
  • Email Notification of Inactive Opportunity
  • Email Notification of Lost Opportunity
  • Email Notification of Won Opportunity

Activating Other Workflows

A number of additional workflows are included in the sample data. You can use them as examples or activate them in your implementation of Siebel PRM.

These workflows are activated in the same way as the registration and eCommerce workflows described previously. Search for the workflow names, which are in bold type in the following list:

  • Prospect Registration (eChannel). Sends email to prospective partners after they register on the Unregistered Partner home page, confirming receipt of their application to be partners.
  • Send Prospect Partner Application Status Email (eChannel). Sends email to prospective partners when the brand owner acts on their applications, telling them they have been approved or rejected as partners.
  • eChannel Partnership Tier Definition and eChannel Partnership Tier Definition Dummy Sub Process. Determine the appropriate partnership tier, based on the prospective partner's application.
  • CHAMP Update Metrics Workflow. Automatically inserts the actual values for revenues generated, MDF spending, and training courses completed for objectives defined in a partner's CHAMP Business Plan.
  • CHAMP Plan - Partner Alert and CHAMP Plan - Create Alert Message. Automatically generates a Partner Alert for the appropriate partner when the alliance manager publishes the joint CHAMP Business Plan.
