Installing in Console Mode

The following procedures describe the installation of the Siebel application in console mode.

NOTE:  Because there is no Browse button in console mode, you should note the paths for both your base DVD and your language DVD installation executable programs, so that you can enter this information when prompted (for example, E:\Windows\Server\Siebel_Enterprise_Server\setup.exe).

To install in console mode

1. If you are installing from DVD, insert the appropriate DVD for the Siebel applications into the DVD drive of the chosen server:
   • Siebel eBusiness Applications, Base Applications for Windows
   • Siebel Industry Applications, Base Applications for Windows
2. From a DOS prompt, navigate to the main installer directory.
3. Execute the following command:

   setup.exe -is:javaconsole -console -args SS_SETUP_INI=main_installer_siebel.ini_path

   where:

   • main_installer_siebel.ini_path = The full path to the main installer siebel.ini file.

     NOTE:  There should be no spaces before and after the equals sign in the command.

     For example:

   setup.exe -is:javaconsole -console -args SS_SETUP_INI=d:\temp\siebel.ini
