Editing the siebel.ini Files for Console Mode Installation

Before starting the installation, you must disable portions of siebel.ini file.

After you finish the installation, launch the Configuration Wizard through the icons created in your Start menu by the installer. For instructions on how to launch the Configuration Wizard, see Process of Installing the Siebel Server.

To modify the siebel.ini file

  1. Using a text editor, modify the appropriate siebel.ini file or files as listed below:

    NOTE:  Make a copy of each siebel.ini file you plan to modify, and save it in a unique location that identifies the module it pertains to. Preserve these copies in case you may need them for later reference.

    • Siebel Enterprise Server. Windows\Server\Siebel_Enterprise_Server\siebel.ini.
    • Siebel Web Server Extension. Windows\Server\Siebel_Web_Server_Extension\siebel.ini.
    • Siebel CORBA Object Manager. Windows\Server\Siebel_CORBA_Object_Manager\siebel.ini.

      CAUTION:  When you modify a siebel.ini file, make sure that you enter the correct values, because your entries are not validated by the installer.

  2. Locate the [RunAfter.Windows] or [RunAfter] section, depending on which .ini file you are modifying, and change the values for the following parameters:
    • Siebel Enterprise Server

    ConfigGateway = no

    ConfigServer = no

    • Siebel Web Server Extension

    Config.SWSE.Windows = no

    • Siebel CORBA Object Manager

    Config.CorbaOM.WINDOWS = no
