Specifying the Java Software Environment

This section describes configuring your browser to use the Java software environment supported for Siebel applications.

To enable Siebel high-interactivity applications to use Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE), you must specify Sun JRE as the default Java environment in the browser. Another Java product may also be installed, but Sun JRE should be enabled as the default.

NOTE:  If you have multiple versions of Sun JRE installed, the correct version must be enabled when you run the Siebel applications. The browser health check does not check which version is currently enabled.

To specify settings for Sun JRE

  1. In Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. In Settings, under Java (Sun), check Use Java 2 xxxx (where xxxx represents the version number for Sun JRE).
  4. Click OK.
  5. Close and restart your browser for the setting to take effect.
