Universal Customer Master (UCM) Upgrade Steps After Repository Merge


Upgrades from: UCM 7.8.2 to 8.0

Environments: Development environment only.

Siebel UCM 7.8.2 is shipped with .sif files in addition to the standard 7.8.2 repository. In the Siebel 7.8.2 to 8.0 upgrade process, the Prior Standard Repository is a standard Siebel 7.8.2 repository which does not contain the UCM 7.8.2 additions gained by applying the UCM .sif file. This inconsistency may cause some false conflicts and the 8.0 changes may be overridden by the repository merge conflict resolution process. Some of the mis-picked values may cause functional impact in various UCM areas, such as UI, source data and the history, batch manager and so on. To retain out of the box 8.0 functionality for UCM 8.0, you need to perform the following procedure.

To change the Resolution field in the Application Upgrade Attribute list

  1. Log in to Siebel Tools following your repository merge.
  2. From the application menu, click Screens > Application Upgrader > Application Upgrade Attribute List.
  3. In the Attribute Differences list, find the objects listed in Table 65 and change the value in the Resolution field from "Use Custom Value" to "Use Standard Value."
