Modifying Macromedia JRun Settings


Macromedia JRun 3.1 or later allows you to make the performance tuning settings that are described in this section.

You can download and install JRun 3.1 or later from Macromedia's Web site at http://macromedia.com. You can use the same license key that you are provided with JRun 3.0.2 on the Siebel Windows Server Ancillary Programs CD-ROM. To complete the JRun 3.1 or later installation, perform the steps described in "Configuring JRun" on page 2-10.

After you complete the initial configuration, you must modify several JRun settings on the eCollaboration server.

To modify JRun 3.1 settings

  1. From the Start menu, choose Programs >JRun 3.1 > JRun Admin Server to start the JRun Admin server.
  2. From the Start menu, choose Programs > JRun 3.1 > JRun Management Console.
  3. Log in as admin.
  4. Choose JRun Default Server > Java Settings.
  5. Make sure that the Java Executable path correctly defines the path to the javaw.exe.
  6. Click on Java Arguments, change the settings to -server -Xmx512M -Xms128M, and then click update.
  7. Choose JRun Default Server > External Web Server. Make sure that the following parameters have the values shown. Click update after making each change.

  1. Choose JRun Default Server > Log File Settings. Make sure that the following parameters have the values shown.
