Setting Server Administration Parameters

You can set parameters in the Server Administration screen to configure the way Web collaboration is implemented with Siebel employee application object managers, such as those for Siebel Call Center and Siebel Service.

At a minimum, you must set the following parameters to allow Siebel eCollaboration to function for a particular Siebel application:

For information about setting Siebel server parameters, see Siebel Server Administration Guide.

Table 2 describes the Siebel eCollaboration server parameters.

Table 2.  Siebel eCollaboration Server Parameters
Parameter
Entry
Web Collab Enable
(True or False) Set to True to allow Web collaboration for this object manager. You must set this parameter to True for at least one customer facing application and one employee facing application for eCollaboration to work correctly.
Web Collab Enable Simulation
(True or False) Set to True to bypass Siebel Universal Queuing to test Siebel eCollaboration in simulation mode.
Web Collab Language Code Map
Specify the name of the language mapping for the Web collaboration package that you use. Different vendors have different maps. For eCollaboration, the default value is PIXION_LANGUAGE_MAP. There is no need to modify this value.
Web Collab Log File
Provide the full name and path for the log file, or provide only the name of the log file to place it in the root log directory. The parameter is used only for testing.
Web Collab Log Level
Set the log level to one of the following, depending on the way you want application errors to be logged:
0. No log.
1. All error messages are logged.
2. All error messages and warnings are logged.
3. All error messages, warnings, and parameters are logged.
4. All error messages, warnings, parameters, and Web Collaboration templates are logged.
Use this parameter only for testing.
Web Collab Package
Specify the package of Web Collaboration commands to use. By default, Siebel eCollaboration uses the predefined package called Siebel eCollaboration. If you define another package, the name you enter here must match the name you give the package in the Web Collaboration Templates view.
Web Collab Server
Enter the URL of the server on which eCollaboration is installed. For example, if you installed the eCollaboration server on the server that hosts www.siebel.com, you must enter http://www.siebel.com.
Web Collab Using Siebel Session Id
If you use the Siebel Activity ID as the session handle, as is the default for Siebel eCollaboration, enter True; otherwise, enter False.
Web Collab Using Siebel UQ
If your implementation uses Siebel Universal Queuing, enter True; otherwise, enter False.
