Migrating Applets and Views
To transform your customized applets and views to corresponding Web Client applets and views, you can use either the Web Client Migration Wizard or the Web Layout Wizard to select the model applets and views that your customized applets and views should be based on. The model applets and views determine the Web layouts, including the layout of controls, of your migrated applets and views. The Web Client Migration Wizard automatically selects the appropriate model applet based on the applet type.
To determine which wizard you should use, consider the degree of control that you need for the migration process.
- Web Client Migration Wizard. Use the Web Client Migration Wizard if one model applet of each type and one model view of each type meets your needs, and you have the following requirements:
- Web Layout Wizard. Use the Web Layout Wizard if you have the following requirements:
The migration wizards standardize the display of applets and views, minimize the number of templates required and the cost of creation and maintenance, and simplify application-wide modification and upgrade processes.
