Upgrade Guide for Microsoft Windows > Postupgrade Tasks > Postupgrade Tasks for All Environments >
Updating the File System Directory
In your previous installation, the file system had a flat structure with one directory. The Release 7.x file system contains subdirectories. During the upgrade of your production environment, Siebel Anywhere looks for certain files in the file system subdirectories, but these files only exist in the root file system directory.
Therefore, you need to create the appropriate subdirectories in your previous installation directory structure and then copy the required files from the root file system directory to the new subdirectories.
To make file attachments accessible to Siebel Anywhere
- In the existing file system structure, create an
\attsubdirectory if it does not already exist; for example,\\siebfile\att
siebfileis your root file system directory.NOTE: Creating the
\attsubdirectory does not adversely affect the installation of your Siebel Server. (You install the Siebel Server at a later point.)- Copy all files located under the
\\siebfiledirectory to the\\siebfile\attdirectory so that all file attachments are accessible by Siebel eBusiness Applications.- Verify that files have copied correctly to the
\\siebfile\attdirectory.
After this has been verified, clean up the file system.
