Updating File System Attachments
During the Siebel database upgrade, data from the inactive table
S_EMPLOYEEwas migrated toS_CONTACT, S_USER, S_EMP_PERand data fromS_ORG_INTwas migrated toS_ORG_EXT. Attachments inS_ORG_INT_ATTwere migrated toS_ACCNT_ATTand attachments inS_EMPLOYEE_ATTwere migrated toS_CONTACT_ATT.NOTE: If your upgrade to Release 7.5 was from Release 7.x, files from
S_WEB_CNTNTwere migrated toS_CB_ASSET_VER.Data migration affects the physical file structure of the Siebel File System. Therefore, you need to run a utility to rename file attachments that correspond to inactive tables for Release 7.x so that they are accessible by Siebel eBusiness Applications. For example, this utility copies and renames all files named
S_EMPLOYEE_ATT*.SAFtoS_CONTACT_ATT*.SAFand all files namedS_ORG_INT_ATT*.SAFtoS_ACCNT_ATT*.SAFso that they correspond to new table names.
- Enter the following command from
SIEBEL_ROOT\siebsrvr\bin:
chng_file_sys.batSOURCE_TABLE TARGET_TABLE"FILE_SYSTEM"
SOURCE_TABLE= name of the original, inactive, tableTARGET_TABLE= name of the new table to which the original data was migrated"FILE_SYSTEM"= name of the directory where the file system resides (entered inside quotation marks)
chng_file_sys.bat S_EMPLOYEE_ATT S_CONTACT_ATT"D:\DBSRVR_ROOT\Files"Review the renamed files carefully to verify that they can be accessed by Siebel eBusiness Applications.
CAUTION: Make sure that attachment files for obsolete tables are renamed or copied to alternate locations.
For example, sinceS_EMPLOYEE_ATTis migrated toS_CONTACT_ATT, you need to rename a file such asS_EMPLOYEE_12-1ABC.SAFtoS_CONTACT_12-1ABC.SAF.If you upgraded from Release 7.0.3 or 7.0.4, data in S_LIT was migrated to S_CB_ASSET_VER; therefore, you need to migrate files associated with migrated records. Perform the following steps to copy the files named S_LIT*.SAF and rename them to S_CB_ASSET_VER*.SAF, so that the files correspond to the new table name.
To migrate S_LIT files to S_CB_ASSET_VER
- Enter the following command from
SIEBEL_ROOT\siebsrvr\bin:file_upg_mm.bat
ODBC_SOURCEUSER_NAMEPASSWORDTABLE_OWNERFILE_SYSTEM_LOCATION SIEBEL_ROOT_DIRECTORY"SIEBEL_DBSRVR_ROOT_DIRECTORY"
ODBC_SOURCE= the ODBC source of the databaseUSER_NAME= the database user namePASSWORD= the password for the database user nameTABLE_OWNER= the database tableowner (if your implementation is on iSeries, you can use the value provided forUser_Name)- "
FILE_SYSTEM_LOCATION" = the directory where the file system resides (entered inside quotation marks)- "
SIEBEL_ROOT_DIRECTORY" = the directory where Siebel Server is installed (entered inside quotation marks)- "
SIEBEL_DBSRVR_ROOT_DIRECTORY" = the directory where Siebel Database Server is installed (entered inside quotation marks)file_upg_mm.bat SEBL sadmin sadminpw SIEBEL "D:\
DBSRVR_ROOT\Files" "D:\SEBLSRVR_ROOT" "D:\DBSRVR_ROOT"Review the renamed files carefully to verify that they can be accessed by Siebel eBusiness Applications.
