Browsing Services by XML Localname

When publishing a resource to the Registry its Qualified name (Localname + Namespace) is taken from the WSDL or Schema in which the resource is originally declared. When troubleshooting you will often need to locate a resource but have only the Localname at your disposal.

To Browse for a Resource by XML Localname

  1. If you are not already in the Browse Taxonomies control click on the Reports tab in the upper left corner of the console.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click the Local Name node. This will load the Browse Taxonomies view.

  3. Select the record type that you wish to view by clicking its name on the right hand tab. The type of view that loads will depend on your general user profile. In an uncustomized Registry, you will be able to find...

    • Generic Service - This record has only one standard view.

    • Services - Service record types. Most users will see a Default view.

    • Generic Resources - This record has only one standard view.

    • Endpoints - Endpoint record types. Most users will see a Default view.

With the Service, Endpoint, Interface types you can change the view with the result view drop down list box in the top right corner of the list.

To Filter A List

  1. Select the column on which you wish to apply the filter in the Filter column list box.

  2. Enter the filter string in the Starts with edit box. Wildcards can be used. The "%" character is replaced by any number of characters. The "_" character is replaced by any single character. The "\" character escapes these and itself. The end of the string is treated as if it has a "%" wildcard suffix so there is no need to add a terminating wildcard.

  3. Click the Filter button. The view is updated with only those records matching the filter.

To Change the View

Simply select the desired view in the Result view list box. The default view options include Default, Summary and Technical. Other custom views can be added.
