Siebel System Requirements and Supported Platforms > Overview of Supported Environments >
Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Server Environments
In homogeneous server environments, Siebel Gateway Name Server, Siebel Servers, and Web servers are all deployed on the same platform. In heterogeneous server environments, Siebel Gateway Name Server, Siebel Servers, and Web servers can be deployed on different supported platforms. Supported homogeneous and heterogeneous server environments are defined in Table 2. NOTE: Table 2 includes combinations that may not be supported in the base release. In some instances, a newer platform may be supported in a maintenance release. Therefore, it is necessary to see the "Applicable Release" column to see if a particular environment is supported in your release.
