Tab Description

Home

Navigate to the Home page of the WLOC Administration Console for quick access to pages that enable you to:

Inventory

Access the Inventory pane that provides access to a hierarchical view of resources (agents and resource pools) and services. From the Inventory pane, you can access the following pages:

  • Services page: Organize your Java applications into services. The configured processes for each application are visually organized into their respective process groups. You can drill down to view each underlying process in a group. For more information, see Define services and process groups.

  • Resource Pools page: View the resource pools that have been defined as part of the agent configuration. For more information, see Configure the resource pool for an Agent.

  • Agents page: Configure and manage the state of Agents. For more information, see Configure and manage Agents.

You can resize the pane by dragging the portlet resizing icon in the lower right corner of the pane.

From the Inventory pane, you can also display an interactive, graphical view of inventory components. For more information, see Interactive view of the WLOC environment.

The Inventory pane also allows you to group inventory components to better organize your view of the inventory tree. You can also copy and paste group components between groups. For more information, see Grouping inventory components.

Policies

Define the service level agreements (SLAs) for your services. SLAs specify the deployment and runtime requirements (constraints or rules) for a service and what actions to take when the service operates outside of those constraints. For more information, see Define and assign policies.

Events

Review the events that have occurred since the Controller was started and approve pending actions on existing service policies. For more information, see Monitor events and pending approvals.

Monitoring

Monitor the performance of your services against their SLAs and determine which resource pools are hosting services. For more information, see Monitor resources.

Controller

Configure and shutdown the Controller. For more information, see Configure and manage the Controller.

Agents

Configure and manage the state of Agents. For more information, see Configure and manage Agents.

WLOC Tasks and Events Viewer

The Tasks and Events viewer, at the bottom of the WLOC Administration Console, displays the last 20 events that occurred and also allows you to filter what is displayed. You can also create custom viewing tabs by clicking on the + tab and providing a custom tab name when prompted. For more information about viewing events, see Monitor events and pending approvals.
