Step 2: Add a Default Group to the Application

A group is a container for services, as well as a management entity for distributed transactions and data-dependent routing. Any TUXEDO server process belongs to a group.

To add a group to the application, select the default group with no transactional capabilities, and then click the Add button. You can examine the properties of the newly added group by selecting it in the tree and choosing Edit->Properties from the menu bar in the Group Properties window. You can, for example, change the name of the new group to something more meaningful than the default naming provided by the Configuration Expert.

The Configuration Expert window should look like Figure 5-2:

After you add a group to the application, go to the next step by clicking the right arrow button.
