In the unlikely event of an exception, the recommended steps to resolution are:
Read the text of the error message displayed and try to determine what's wrong
Save the exception error window text with a screen capture or cut and paste
Retry the operation to see if it repeats
Copy the BEA Guardian log files to another location and save them for future reference
Contact BEA Support for assistance
To do a screen capture of the exception message window using Windows, press Alt+Print Screen to copy the active window, paste it into a graphics editor such as Paint, and save it as a .JPG file for future reference. You can also select the error message text with your mouse, right-click to copy it into your copy buffer, and paste it into a text editor.
To save the log files, simply copy them to another location so that the error is among the last entries in the log file, making it easier to identify. Guardian has three log files: guardian.log and signature.log in your Guardian installation directory, and .log in your Guardian Workspace's .metadata directory.
